How to prepare Current Affairs

If you are aiming for any competitive exam like Banking, SSC, or any other center or state level exam then you cannot afford to miss the current affairs section. This section holds a lot of importance in almost every exam. Therefore, students must give a lot of attention while preparing for this exam. Current Affairs will not only help you in the Mains exam of IBPS or SBI PO or Clerk but it will also help you in Descriptive writing and Interview as well. Bank exams are one such exam that constitutes a large portion of marks in the Mains exam devoted to the General Awareness Section.

Why Current Affairs are Important for Banking Aspirants?

General Awareness section in Banking exam comprises of three sections namely –

  • Banking Awareness
  • Financial Awareness
  • Current Affairs

Though the number of questions differs in every exam all these three majors are almost equally divided. Students can easily get the sources to study Banking Awareness and Financial Awareness because they are easily available and have a limited syllabus to cover. While Current Affairs is one such section that has a wide syllabus that cannot be defined. So today we will be discussing what to study to cover Current Affairs:

  • Science & Technology
  • Government schemes and policies
  • News related to banking and economy
  • News of national and international importance
  • Famous books and their authors
  • Important dates and events
  • Awards, Summits, Conferences
  • Appointment & Resignation

Current affairs of how many months are advised to be studied?

Students are expected to go through the current affairs of the last six to seven months. The focus should be more on the last three months current affairs. This is the section which can fetch you a lot of marks in less time. Exams like SBI PO and IBPS PO and where students missed the final cut off by point marks, this could be the section which can ensure your selection.
