Eligibility Criteria for Appearing in Bank Exams 

It is crucial to meet the bank exam eligibility requirements set out by the official authorities in order to take any exam bank. All bank examinations typically have the same eligibility requirements, which are as follows: 

Nationality:

To be eligible, a candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal, or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee, or a person of Indian ancestry who migrated to India from one of the following countries: Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or one of the East African nations of the United Republic of Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, or Vietnam with the intention of settling there permanently. 

Age Requirements:

For future bank examinations, a candidate’s minimum age cannot be less than 20 years, nor can their maximum age exceed 30 years. 

Education Qualification:

Minimum graduation in any field from a university approved by the Government of India is required for this position.

Public Sector and Private Sector Banks  

Candidates are hired by the IBPS for the positions of PO and Clerk in the Public Sector Banks. There are 27 public sector banks in India, 19 of which have been nationalised. The two main Private Sector banks are State Bank of India and IDBI Bank. 

The biggest public sector bank in India is SBI. It was founded in 1955, and Mumbai, India, serves as its corporate headquarters. The central banking and monetary authority in India are the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which also serves as the apex bank. It was established in 1935 as a private company, but in 1949 it became a national institution. Mr. Shaktikanta Das is the RBI’s current governor.
