OUR DIRECTOR

ICD KOLLAM was founded in 1995 by Jayakrishnan V.G., its Director since then. He is an alumnus of the IIM, Kozhikode. After completing his graduation in Physics from the Fatima Mata National College, Kollam, he worked in State Bank of Travancore, one of the premier brands in Kerala for a few years.

He then did his Post Graduate Programme in Management from the IIMK. He dares to think big in innovating new learning techniques and profusely uses technology as an aid in the process of learning.

WHO WE ARE

Institute for Career Development (ICD KOLLAM) was established in the year 1995. We are professionals in imparting training to young educated job aspirants who wish to appear for competitive exams. Our core competence is in Bank Recruitment Examination training.

We are in the 25th year. So far, more than 13,000 job seekers have found placements through us. All the Public Sector Banks and major Kerala-based Private Sector Banks have ICDians as their workforce.

Led by Jayakrishnan V.G., who is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM,K),ICD is a team of committed teachers, who are willing to update themselves continuously. All the faculty members are permanent ones and are time –tested professionals. Over the years, they have built the biggest reservoir of model questions that are contemporaneous. It’s a work in progress.

Established in 1995, the Institute for Career Development, Kollam, more popularly ICD KOLLAM has been instrumental in the career success of more than 13,000 professionals. Our guidance and their committed hard work have made Kollam the synonymous with success in competitive examinations, especially Bank Recruitment Exams.

In at least 70-80% of bank branches in Kerala, one could easily find an ICDian working. Though our core-competence is in bank test training, the training that we have imparted has helped many find placements in Insurance companies (LIC, GIC), EPFO, ESIC, the High Court, Government of India through SSC and Government of Kerala though PSC, Government Secretariat etc.

The online learning platform that we have developed makes learning a happy and faster experience. We have more than 600 hours of teaching videos in different levels that are beamed in a pre-scheduled way to reach the students, in a well-structured manner. Hence learning takes place real-time through the classes, and off ICD hours through their mobiles or laptops or PCs, at the students’ convenience. Thus we engage them 24*7 to catalyse their success. Our Daily Newspaper Analysis helps students widen their range of interests and connectivity to what is happening around them. This may aid them to perform well at the time of interview or group discussions.

ICD KOLLAM has two campuses. One is in the heart of the Kollam city, closer to the Railway Station, Bus Stand, District Collectorate, District Panchayat Office and the centurion Rama Varma Club. The other one is the Fully Residential Campus at Kalluvathukkal, Kollam, which has separate hostel facilities for men and women, food court, and even banks ATM, in-house.

ICD KOLLAM has the best infrastructure in India for bank test training. Spanned over 1.5 lac square feet of built-up area, the campus has excellent classrooms, air-conditioned computer labs with 450 systems networked to servers, a fully air-conditioned, digital auditorium, where we conduct debates and lectures. Its ICDians’ pride, Others’ envy. Infrastructure is only an assurance guaranteeing convenience and ambience for students rearing to go.

The essence of our success is that we make things simple. The first thing what we do is to make the students understand that we have no magic wand. We make them understand that competitive exams are fundamentally different from their academic exams, and the need for continuous efforts. We teach them the concepts very well; provide them innumerable practice problems; encourage them to slog them over; train their brains; make them understand the heat of the competitive exams, thus ensuring success to them.
